John Rogers
John Rogers is represented by:

Born in Des Moines, Iowa. John soon moved with his parents to Duluth, Minnesota, Great Falls, Montana
and then to La Crosse, Wisconsin where he attended both junior and senior high schools. He then studied at
The University of Wisconsin-Madison attaining Bachelor and Masters degrees in Art. For the latter he was
awarded the Wisconsin Graduate Fellowship in Art
In 1957 he began teaching undergraduate painting and sculpture in the Art Department at The University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In 1963 he was appointed a professor of Art at San Diego State University where he taught
sculpture and three dimensional design to both undergraduates and graduates until his retirement in 1999, end-
ing a 42 year career teaching Art at the University level
Since 1963 John has lived and worked in La Mesa, California, where he has a studio / residence. As both a
painter and sculptor he has exhibited in California and Nationally.
